“The relazioni translated in this volume draw on several archival documents: The 1609 report by Ottaviano Bon is based on the copy in the Collegio Relazioni series of the Archivio di stato di Venezia. The 1590 report by Lorenzo Bernardo is based on copies in the same Collegio Relazioni series in Venice, and in the Codici Barberini Latini at the Vatican Library.
